Babatunde Omilola
Head of Development Planning and Inclusive Sustainable Growth Team at UNDP
Babatunde Omilola is a seasoned professional in the field of Development Economics with a rich educational background. He holds a DPhil in Development Economics and an MPhil in Development Economics and International Development, both from the University of Sussex. Babatunde Omilola's career spans across various prestigious organizations where he has held key positions, showcasing his expertise and leadership abilities. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Development Planning and Inclusive Sustainable Growth Team at UNDP. Prior to this role, he worked as the Senior Economic Advisor and Head of Policy and Strategy at UNDP. Moreover, he has also held significant roles such as the Regional Poverty Reduction and MDGs Practice Leader for Eastern and Southern Africa at UNDP. Before joining UNDP, Babatunde Omilola was engaged with the International Food Policy Research Institute, where he served as the Africa-wide Coordinator and Program Leader for the Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System. Additionally, he gained valuable experience as the FAO Liaison Officer to the African Union Commission and the UN Economic Commission for Africa at the FAO.
