Maria Robins-Somerville is a New York-based journalist and media professional with a passion for storytelling. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English from the University of Michigan, where she was an English Undergraduate Peer Advisor and the Editor-in-Chief of The Oleander Review. Maria also studied New England Literature at the University of Michigan and History and Geography at the Universidad de Sevilla in Spain. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
Maria's professional experience includes working as an Associate Producer at Pineapple Street Media, where she produces podcasts on a variety of topics. Before that, she was an intern at Pineapple Street Media and WNYC Radio's The Brian Lehrer Show. Maria has also worked as a freelance journalist for BKLYNER and as an Editorial and Marketing Intern at the Center for Communication. She has sales experience as a Bookseller/Event Host at GREENLIGHT BOOKSTORE and has held administrative roles as an Office Manager at Camp Burgess & Hayward and a Cabin Counselor at the same organization.
Maria is skilled in audio production, journalism, writing, editing, and event planning. She has a strong background in psychology, literature, and history, which she incorporates into her work. Maria has a keen interest in media and entertainment, particularly podcasting and audio storytelling.
