The CIPD are the professional body for HR and people development. We are the voice of a worldwide community of more than 140,000 members committed to championing better work and working lives.

It's been a privilege to work with CIPD over the last 3.5 years - initially working as a consultant on the business case for market entry to the Middle East and then leading the business over the last 2.5 years (from July 2015 to the end of Dec 2017).

Our regional team have delivered so much to be proud of over this period:

1. Regional Membership growth of more than 30% since we opened the office
2. The addition of more than 20 corporate clients who have partnered with us to help raise HR professional standards within their businesses
3. Signed a number of high profile, long term governments partnerships across a number of GCC countries
4. Published more than 400 news articles and features on HR related topics and 5 formal research papers
5. Developed and successfully launched a broad portfolio of Middle East specific short course training programs
6. Welcomed 'Higher Colleges of Technology' in the UAE as an approved CIPD centre - which will result in local Emirati HR Graduates becoming CIPD professional members from 2019 and beyond
7. Added greater study choices across the region through the addition of  both PWC's Academy as a key strategic partner and also the launch of CIPD Avado digital qualifications

It's been amazing and the business is now well established with a strong brand presence, great team and all set for it's next phase of development as I hand over the reins.

After 9 years in the Middle East it is now time to head back to the UK to rejoin my family and explore whatever might be next... to be continued!

Heading up client operations for IBM Smarter Workforce Middle East (previously Kenexa) - providing HR outsourcing, consulting and technology services to leading blue chip companies across the Region. Managed the integration of Kenexa into IBM across the region over a 10 month period.

Services include: RPO & resourcing diagnostics, Talent Technology and Assessment tools, Employee Engagement Surveys, HR Metrics, HR strategy consulting.

Clients include: HSBC, BP, Barclays, Etihad Airways, Honeywell, FGB, Johnson Controls, HMC, Etisalat, Henkel

Team achievements:
1. Supported sales to deliver business revenue growth of over 300% in 8 months
2. 100% client retention and successful contract renewals with 3 major blue chip accounts
3. Successfully managed integration and transfer of business to IBM (Feb 2014)
4. Established standardised Account plans & Quarterly reviews for all accounts
5. Instigated and standardised operational reporting and dashboards from multiple source systems

-  From June 2012 reported to both the Group CEO and COO - responsible for the HR function globally across Jumeirah International
-  Executive Committee member and personally manage all Board and RemCo meetings
-  7 direct reports, a team of 60 across Corporate & shared services teams and 250 HR / L&D colleagues globally / direct P/L of AED 32m
-  Successfully supported major business growth since Jan 2011 with new hotel openings in UAE, UK, Maldives, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Azerbaijan, China & Kuwait
-  Instigated successful roll out of a global online HR Analytics platform (SQL RS) enabling effective participation in quarterly business reviews and a number of key board level business decisions on our workforce strategy

StepStone Solutions (became Lumesse and now Saba) - a magic quadrant global supplier of SaaS Talent Management software

- Member of the Solutions Global Executive Management Team reporting to Group Managing Director (now CEO)
- General Management role responsible for StepStone’s 175+ Global Professional Services organisation across 15 countries Europe, US and AsiaPac – including P/L accountability in 2007/8 for circa €20m
- Achieved over 100% of all 2007 & 2008 commercial targets and deployed over 400 customer projects successfully
- Delivered multiple large scale operational change programmes across the company during tenure – including reorganisation of Application Development function, Implementation team re-organisation, successfully productised consulting division (‘Total Talent Solutions’)
- Lead introduction of company wide performance mgt processes, incentive schemes & HR strategy
- Left StepStone to pursue international opportunity having been approached personally by the CHRO at Jumeirah.

Professional Services Director

Consultant hired to build a highly scalable global resourcing model for one of the world's fastest growing online gaming businesses. at the time of joining PG they were FTSE 100 and growing at over 300% per annum - with operations in the UK, Gibraltar and Bulgaria.

Implemented a hybrid inhouse and insourced global resourcing model alongside Capital Consulting (now AMS) in 2 months, which remains operational to date (Q3 2008). Also implemented company wide ATS in 6 weeks.

Left amicably due to advent of safe Port act in US (Aug 2006) which cut company revenues and growth plans. Project managed the subsequent downsizing programme before leaving PG to join StepStone.

PartyGaming

Head of Resourcing (Contract role)

Consultant hired to transform Royal Mail's approach to volume and mgt resourcing.Successfully built business case for replacement of SAP and bespoke resourcing systems to group wide ATS and online psychometrics for volume recruitment (circa 50,000 hires per annum). Project sponsor for successful implementation (system is still incumbent and has met ROI objectives).

Led industrial relations and regulator activites across the group (for resourcing). Introduced outsourced assessment programme for internal mgt to support national organisational restructure. Introduced new recruitment policies across internal mobility and pre-employment vetting. Also set up partnerships with several organisations to enhance RMG's CSR activity - in particular with BAOH

Worked closely with attraction HR teams to design and implement practical HR solutions - achievements included; 1. Pioneering ATS roll out in 2001 (Peoplebank still incumbent at Merlin) 2. International recruitment programmes & exchange programme with Sandals 3. Employee satisfaction surveys and action programmes 4. Competency framework & assessment centre toolkit design
