Fereshteh Forough is a prominent Afghan entrepreneur and educator, known for her dedication to empowering women in tech. Born in Iran, Fereshteh returned to her native Afghanistan after the collapse of the Taliban regime and earned a Bachelor in Computer Science. She taught as a professor at Herat University before pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering of Database Management System at Technical University of Berlin. In 2015, Fereshteh founded Code to Inspire, the first coding school for girls in Afghanistan, with the mission of educating Afghan women in programming skills, empowering them for social and financial independence. Her organization has trained many young women in the country and received international recognition. Fereshteh serves on the advisory board at Unity Global Education and was a Blossom Hill Foundation Fellow.
