Jos Birken is an allround marketer and CEO/CMO with a solid grounding in marketing, thanks to the alma mater, Unilever. He has a successful track record and wide experience in digital, mobile, and data-driven marketing. Birken has also set up successful companies in China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, making him an expert in the marketing services industry and community across all major markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

He is a pioneer and early mover in marketing technology ("Martech") and cloud computing, having founded several companies revolving around data-driven marketing, such as Claritas Netherlands (later Acxiom Netherlands), Consodata Korea, TNT Marketing Services (China), and Marketing Science. Currently, Birken runs KLWTT, formerly known as KatalystM, a marketing agency specializing in marketing technology and customer engagement. He is also the publisher of AdAsia Magazine, the magazine for modern marketing and marketing technology, sat on several Board positions, including the Direct Marketing Association of Singapore (DMAS), and InterDirect Network (IDN).

Birken studied at St Maartenscollege, where he studied Gymnasium B, Mathematics, Physics, and Classics. Later, he studied Law, Civil and Litigation Law at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and ISSI, Computer Science at Weizmann Institute of Science. Alongside his current ventures, Birken is a former contributor at Molblog (Molblog.nl) and held positions such as Vice Chairman at Data-Driven Marketing Association of Singapore, CEO and Founder at Marketing Science, and CEO, Asia-Pacific at Consodata.
