Janne Kouri is a nonprofit leader, entrepreneur, investor, public speaker, and disability activist with an impressive background. He graduated from Georgetown University Business School with a degree in Marketing, where he was also the captain of the Georgetown University Division I-AA football team. He was the recipient of numerous awards, including being named the 1996 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, 1996 Team MVP, 1st Team All Conference in 1995 & 1996, and an All-American in 1996. Kouri still holds the All-Time Sack Record with 31.5.
Kouri is the President and Founder of NextStep, a recognized non-profit that makes life-changing rehab and fitness accessible and affordable to individuals living with paralysis. By offering state-of-the-art equipment, world-class certified trainers, and cutting-edge therapies, NextStep centers provide the best chance for recovery, health, and independence. The non-profit's goal is to open NextStep paralysis recovery centers across the country to ensure an improved quality-of-life and a continuum of care for this underserved population.
Prior to founding NextStep, Kouri was the North American Director for Sulake Corporation, a world leading online community entertainment and media company. He was also a co-founder of mobile gaming pioneer Orchimedia LLC.
