We engaged with about 150 high-profile mentors from the industry, per batch. -Connected Investors with relevant start-ups. These included firms like Sequoia, Indian Angel Network, and Matrix Partners.-Supervised the Investor Network and the Customer Connect Program. b) Outreach and Brand Building Program Manager for events including TiECon Hyderabad 2013 and Windows Azure Conference 2014. c) Think Next/Demo Day - Events-Organised events to showcase the graduating batch of start-ups, attracting 1000-1500 people per venue.. -Was invited to conduct two similar events in Seattle for the US Accelerator. d) Other Activities -Outreach activities like ‘Coffee with MV’, travelling to interact with start-ups in major Indian cities. -Facilitated the launch of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program under MV’s initiative to help a million women go digital. -Speaker and moderator for several ecosystem events, and was a panellist for a discussion on Accelerators and Incubators at Grace Hopper India 2014.

I collaborated with three engineers to establish a start-up, a mobile app called Jinilabs, focused on the Indian entertainment industry. The idea started as an app to track TV listings, and developed into a streaming app. I played multiple roles in this start-up. JiniBooks is an effort to enable small to medium size publishers and authors to reach bigger audience via digital medium. Authors can not only have static content but also build interactive magazines and books- Developed vision and strategy for the app.- Content Syndication: Tied up with over 200 TV channels to receive updated weekly listings. I subsequently made arrangements for streaming content. - Marketing and Branding: I negotiated an OEM deal with a leading mobile brand to list our app. I oversaw brand building opportunities, including PR activities for the company. I also ensured that we were featured in leading dailies as well as a regional television channel. Further, I arranged for my colleagues and me to speak at various events related to mobile-based products. - Fund Raising: As a start-up, we networked with different angel firms to raise funding. I prepared presentations and met with investors, explaining the concept and engaging their interest in our firm.

I was Publisher and Founding Chief Editor of magazine ‘South Movie Scenes’, a comprehensive monthly magazine catering to the film industry in India’s four southern languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. My responsibilities included:- Editorial: I wrote the cover story, chose the graphics and photographs, and decided the text content. I updated the website every month, and also led the content team, consisting of both full-time employees and part-time contributors.- Marketing and Branding: I was the spokesperson for the magazine, and organised promotional events. - Business Development: I identified strategic partners, new markets, and liaised with media to syndicate the magazine content. As part of this was an Editor at Bangalore Happenings.-Based on my work here, the British Council honoured me as the Young Creative Entrepreneur, India, 2008–09. I represented India at the International Young Creative Entrepreneur Awards in London, 2008. -I authored a chapter, ‘Differences between South Indian Cinema/Hindi Cinema’, in a book on Indian Cinema which was released as part of the Lyon Film Festival, in English and French.-I was also invited as a Jury member at international Film Festivals, including: Banff Media Festival, 2013 (Canada); Grand Off Film Festival, 2010-11, 2011-12 & 2012-13 (Warsaw); Vilnius International Film Festival, 2009-10 (Lithuania).
