Monika Hudson
Monika Hudson is an accomplished academic professional and entrepreneur with multiple degrees and a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors. As an associate professor at the University of San Francisco School of Management, she teaches courses on leadership, entrepreneurship, and public administration to undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, she directs USF’s Gellert Family Business Center, which provides educational and networking opportunities for family businesses in the Bay Area.
Hudson has also served as a 2017/18 Fulbright Scholar, conducting research on female and Afro-descendant entrepreneurship in Cali, Colombia. She has collaborated with colleagues to develop a Latin American baseline for the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile. With a focus on identity and its behavioral impacts across industry sectors, Hudson has a keen interest in economic development and entrepreneurial thinking, particularly among people of color and women.
Prior to her academic career, Hudson had a 30-year career in the public sector which included executive management positions in various California cities. She has developed expertise in small group processes, strategy, business and economic development, and community engagement. She has also received training in mediation and assists government, nonprofit, and private sector leaders in facilitation, team building, organizational analysis, and performance evaluation.
Hudson's educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Communications Studies and Political Science, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, a Doctor of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University, and a Doctor of Education in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco.
