Gilles Portaz is a former certified history and geography teacher with an extensive experience of over 20 years in the French education system. He holds a Master's degree in Contemporary History from Université Côte d'Azur and has studied Capes in History at La Sorbonne. Additionally, he has a keen interest in music and theatre, which he teaches as an independent instructor. He has also worked as an entrepreneur and helped found a company that specializes in pool renovations.

Gilles' commitment to education and his expertise in history and geography has led him to work with schools such as Lycée International de Valbonne Sophia-Antipolis and Lycée Français de San Francisco, where he has organized events and coached students for various competitions. He is now retired from full-time teaching and has started a citizen-teacher blog to share his knowledge and views on current events.
