Kanags Surendran is a prominent leader in the financial services industry, well-known for his successful track record in building teams, growing businesses and executing lean and agile transformations. With an engineering degree from BITS Pilani, an MBA from INSEAD, and currently pursuing an Executive Masters in Behavioural Science at LSE, Kanags is a lifelong learner with a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Kanags is currently spearheading the transformation agenda at CIMB, where he is driving agile and design thinking at scale while digitizing customer journeys. Previously, as Head of Digital Banking for the consumer bank at CIMB, Kanags more than doubled the business during his four-year tenure. Prior to CIMB, Kanags held multiple roles in Digital at Standard Chartered where he launched Breeze (now SCMobile), Dash with Singtel and made significant contributions to Emerging Payments and Retail Digital Channels.

Kanags believes in going beyond his professional boundaries and is an avid bookworm, golfer, guitar-learner and a licensed single-engine airplane pilot.
