Michael Podolny is a successful corporate attorney in Silicon Valley, with a special focus on emerging companies and startups in the technology sector. He is currently working at Latham & Watkins, one of the world's largest and most prestigious law firms, which is based in Menlo Park, California. With his expertise in corporate and securities law, Michael spends his time working on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and initial public offerings. Many of his clients look to him to provide the guidance and support of an "outside general counsel" as they navigate issues of corporate governance and strategy.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Michael worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, which is one of the country’s leading law firms for technology and life sciences enterprises. His professional career began at Deloitte & Touche, where he was recruited as a college sophomore. He later worked at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, one of Canada's top corporate law firms.

Michael is a member of the State Bar of California and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He studied at York University's Schulich School of Business where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), and Osgoode Hall Law School where he pursued his Doctor of Law (J.D.). During his time at university, Michael received numerous academic awards and scholarships, conducted research in the fields of strategy and entrepreneurship, published an article in the field of tax policy, and assisted in the writing of the law school’s class action law curriculum.

Outside of his professional duties, Michael enjoys making presentations on various topics concerning technology enterprises at startup events, incubators, and workshops.
