Cornel van Zaal

Cornel van Zaal is an accomplished engineer and management professional with a diverse set of skills and interests. He holds a Master of Science in Hydraulic Engineering from Delft University of Technology and a Cum Laude Master of Science in Business Administration from RSM Erasmus Universiteit. Additionally, he has studied civil engineering at Kungliga tekniska högskolan and completed his VWO at SG Tabor. Cornel is a hard worker who takes initiative and is comfortable working outside of conventional approaches. He has experience in hydraulic load calculations, geotechnical analysis, open channel modelling, design and drafting using MathCAD and AutoCAD, and linking strategy to concrete actions. As a native Dutch speaker with a high level of English proficiency and intermediate German and Spanish language skills, he is well equipped to work in diverse teams in a global context. Cornel has worked at Arcadis as a Waterbouwkundige, and previously held positions as a Specialist Hoogwaterveiligheid at SASSEVAART and as a Graduate Intern at Royal HaskoningDHV. He also founded The Couch Consultant and worked as a Werkstudent at BT Geoconsult B.V. Cornel was also instrumental in organizing educational events as a Commissaris PR & Excursies at Het Gezelschap "Practische Studie."
