Rana Herro

Rana Herro is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background spanning over a decade in Immunology. Currently focusing on the microbiome's impact on allergies, Rana carries over 5 years of specialized knowledge in fibrosis/remodeling and type 2 immunity, with additional Biotech experience. With an additional 4 years of expertise in autoimmunity and T cell biology, Rana has established herself as an authority in these domains.

In addition to her research roles, Rana Herro has excelled as an Instructor and Team leader, overseeing students and managing research staff. Her skill set extends to grant writing and effective oral communication, including presenting to philanthropists for fundraising purposes. Demonstrating proficiency in Microscopy as a pathologist, Rana also boasts expertise in RNA seq analysis (IPA). Her passion lies in Target and Drug discovery, evident through her two patent applications and consultancy work in Biopharma.

Rana's academic journey is marked by significant achievements, including a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genetics and Molecular Microbiology from the University of Paris XI-Pasteur Institute and AgroParisTech. Prior to this, she pursued a Master's degree in Microbiology at the University of Rennes I and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from the University of Saint Joseph and the University of Beirut.

Rana Herro has held key positions at prestigious institutions, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Previously, she contributed as Junior Faculty - Instructor at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology, Adjunct Faculty at UCSD and SDCC, and as a Senior Research Scholar and Postdoctoral Fellow at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology.
