Juha Hemanus is a dual U.S./Finnish citizen with extensive experience in Mobile Communications, Content Production, Experience, Emotional and Narrative Design, and Performing Arts. He is currently leading the City of Tampere, Finland's bid to become the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2026. Juha is a Creative Director with a passion for creating meaningful living, arts, entertainment, experiences, and smart digital services for all Tampere residents and visitors. With a background in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from the University of the Arts Helsinki, Juha has worked as a theater stage director, writer, and even director of the Musical Show "Peer Gynt" at the Philharmonia Orchestra in London.

Juha has also worked for companies such as Nokia, where he was the Principal Researcher for Entertainment User Experience in Hollywood, and Voith GmbH, where he was the UX Creative Director of Digitalization of a Strategic Manufacturer in LA/Germany. Additionally, he has won accolades for his work with "Connect to Art," a Global Mobile Arts Project, including the New York Foundation of the Arts Award in NY and the Best Cultural Innovator Award for Helsinki Festival in Finland.

Juha has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Helsinki, a Master's Degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from the University of the Arts Helsinki, and he studied Leadership and Business Competence Program, Business Administration and Management, General at the University of Tampere. He has also completed User Experience Design Immersive, UX Design & Research & Strategy at General Assembly.

Juha is a former Tester/Verifier at Moravia, Senior UX Researcher/Senior Concept Designer at Nokia Research/Nokia Design, former Music Theater Stage Director at Åbo Svenska Teater, and former Writer & Stage Director at Philharmonia Orchestra.
