BIOL 225 (Evolution) Teaching Assistant

Undergraduate researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew A. Pieper.
Specific lab duties include:
-  Performing experiments involving mice injections, perfusion and brain slicing, antibody immunostaining, and neuronal imaging with fluorescent and confocal microscopes.
-  Performing data analysis measuring hippocampal neurogenesis using programs such as ImageJ.
-  Conducting several literature reviews on topics such as microglia dysfunction.

Worked under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Jonathan Lin. Performed numerous eye dissections used for sequencing in the neuropathology department. Also helped perform multiple autopsies to remove organs for dissection. I am recognized by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). I practice Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy with children who are on the Autism Spectrum Disorder or present with other neurodevelopmental disabilities. My responsibilities with the client include decreasing problem behavior, practicing daily living skills, and increasing functional behavior as a part of the behavior intervention plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

The paper was titled “Optimization of Ensemble Supervised Learning Algorithms for Increased Sensitivity, Specificity, and AUC of Population-Based Colorectal Cancer Screenings”. This research paper has also won multiple awards.
