Formulated a vision and planned a roadmap for the future of the platform and the capabilities it would enable for other teams. As part of the Gmail oncall rotation, kept the service running reliably by responding to alerts and diagnosing issues in real time, and participated in group troubleshooting and design review sessions. Tamed a subsystem known for error-prone updates by building a framework in Python and Go to enable staged verification and deployment of new component versions, and worked with owners to establish a formal release process.
