Harris Schaer, a sustainability professional and leader, has a robust history of integrating clean energy solutions into high-pressure environments. His expertise in clean vehicle technologies, charging systems, fleet management, and battery chemistry has made him an enthusiastic early adopter. Harris achieves results through fostering collaboration and cutting through the red tape. As a former Fulbright Scholar and recipient of two Association of Energy Engineers annual awards, his core skills and qualifications include hydrogen storage and fuel cells, battery energy storage, renewable energy, public and government policy, and sustainable development. He has experience managing staff, writing grants, fundraising, and engaging in community outreach. Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Solid State Physics from Háskóli Íslands. He worked at various organizations, including TEKCAST Industries, Inc., the University of Chicago, NYSERDA - NY State Energy Research and Development Authority, Columbia University Medical Center as Associate Director of Energy Management & Sustainability, and currently serves as Director of Energy and Sustainability at NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
