Joanna Blasi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has experience working with patients in different healthcare settings. Her career as a social worker started in the US Department of Veterans Affairs, where she provided support and care management to veterans and their families through assessment and treatment of complicated psychosocial problems such as acute illness, chronic illness, traumatic brain injury (TBI), community adjustment, addictions, and other health and mental health issues. She also completed her Master's degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and her Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Boston University. After her time at the VA, Joanna spent a few years as an LCSW in various hospitals, where she completed psychosocial assessments, maintained knowledge of pertinent legal and regulatory compliance requirements, educated patients/families on community resources when needed, and established appropriate discharge plans. She worked closely with the Doctors, Nurses, and Case Management team to ensure patients receive timely Social Work intervention and discharge planning. With her extensive experience and knowledge as an LCSW, Joanna is proficient in coordinating care, providing counseling, and communicating effectively in a clinical setting.
