Jay Schmalholz is a highly accomplished media executive and creative leader with extensive experience in the entertainment and broadcasting industry. He has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Clark University and has held various senior positions throughout his career.
Schmalholz's career began at Viacom's MTV, where he worked as a video producer. Later, he served as a feature producer at both CBS Corporation and NBC News, and then as Vice President and Creative Director of Nick Games and Sports at Nickelodeon. Schmalholz worked his way up, leading various departments at Nickelodeon, including the Movie Promotions Group and Creative Advertising, eventually becoming Senior Vice President of Unscripted Development and Live Event Television.
Schmalholz's leadership has helped bring to life the many successful and beloved programs, promotions, and events of Nickelodeon, including the Kids' Choice Awards and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. With his vast experience in production and development, as well as his keen understanding of the interaction between audiences and media, Schmalholz has been a critical figure in the growth and success of Nickelodeon.
