Daniel Alberts is a seasoned Senior Manager at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition. With a strong managerial background in private sector agribusiness and international development, Daniel currently leads the implementation of GAIN's Agriculture and Nutrition global programs.
Daniel's educational background includes a BSc in Plant Science from Cornell University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from TiasNimbas Business School in the Netherlands. He has accumulated over 12 years of work experience in various countries such as the United States, Colombia, Kenya, the Netherlands, and Mozambique. Daniel is proficient in English, Spanish, Dutch, Swahili, and Portuguese.
Throughout his career, Daniel has held key positions in prestigious organizations. He served as the Head of Program Management at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and as the Director (Interim), Cluster Lead for Supply Chains for Nutritious Foods at GAIN. Additionally, he has been the Senior Manager for the Agriculture and Nutrition Global Program at GAIN, overseeing significant projects in the field.
Daniel's professional journey includes roles like the Program Manager for the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods - Large Scale Food Fortification and Project Lead for the Marketplace for Nutritious Foods in Mozambique at GAIN. Prior to his tenure at GAIN, Daniel founded CultivaMoz and held managerial positions at companies such as Hamer Kenya Ltd, Florensis, and Yoder Brothers, Inc., showcasing his diverse skill set and experience in the agricultural sector.
