Presented ideas and concepts around data visualization for product design to our design team and will act as a consultant to other teams working on data related products.

-  Lead the design efforts for NerdWallet's B2B channel where we provide data visualization tools, content, and experts that help employees maximize their benefits. One of the big issues that we are particularly interested in is the management of chronic disease from childhood to adulthood. We want to make sure that people are not falling through the cracks. Another area that we're particularly interested in is the impact of health insurance, particularly the Affordable Care Act, on access and utilization of health services for children with medical complexities. We want to make sure that health care reform itself is not harmful to the most medically complex children. The third area, equally important, is to help people understand how to promote good habits for children across their life course. We have done this by creating a HABIT laboratory, which stands for Health Analytics, Behavioral Interventions, and Technology. A lot of the health issues in adulthood stem from childhood behaviors. For instance, obesity leads to diabetes and heart disease, and if one could prevent diabetes by reducing obesity, then we would have a lot fewer problems when kids become adults.

Member of inaugural board of LinkedIn's non-profit foundation with the role of communications committee chair. I lead the design direction for all LinkedIn for Good communications materials with the goal of inspiring our employees, through design, to give back to their communities. Our mission is to connect the talent and passion of employees with the opportunities to use their skills to make a positive impact on the world.

Other responsibilities include:
-  Setting objectives and goals for the communications committee that align with the goals of the Foundation each year.

How do I want to contribute to positive change? There are three ways I use my time and effort:

1. Educating myself and raising awareness on social issues that I am passionate about.

2. Volunteering and being active within my community — educating & mentoring children, using data analysis for social impact, organizing events, encouraging others to take part in meaningful work.

3. Using my design and data visualization skills to help people, organizations and institutes that I feel do good for their communities both domestically and internationally.

Worked on new products that span mobile, desktop and tablet. Previously, I worked on the new mobile profile redesign and lead the product to launch for both iphone and Android. As part of our growth initiative, I also worked on our Mobile registration flow and design, and was a consultant to our China team on their growth initiatives.  

Horizontal initiative: 
Data visualization design lead for core products at LinkedIn: Profile, homepage and who viewed your profile products on desktop and mobile. Responsible for creating the charting styles, guidelines and best practices for data visualization and insights across LinkedIn. I also do consulting work across all product teams where I provide guidance and feedback to other product team designers on their projects such as company analytics, jobs analytics, China initiatives, recruiter product and emails 

Design Series organizer:

Data visualization - Process, analyze & visually represent data for projects relating to child & maternal health both domestically & internationally. Use software such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to graph & elucidate spatial relationships between variables of interest, Statistical/Mathematics software such as SigmaPlot, GraphPad, & Excel to analyze data & the Adobe Creative Suite for designing & optimizing the display/quality of the data visuals to effectively relay the information presented. Exploring Processing & Polymaps to add a new dimension to our presentations. 

Visual illusions - Working with child obesity researchers at the Stanford Prevention Center to design plates for a study looking at food plate-size & visual illusions for portion control funded by the National Institute of Health. Researching & understanding visual perception & psychology in prototyping the plates.
