Her background includes 18 years of university teaching and research in various communication and management fields in the United States and Europe. Katie's educational accomplishments include a PhD in Organizational Communication from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Augustana College, and a Master's degree in Organizational Communication from the University of South Dakota. Her research on branding and diversity has earned her a reputation for her expertise in communication and management with a focus on inclusion, equality, and justice for working people. Katie currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and was formerly an Affiliate Faculty member at the University of Denver and an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Economics at Lund University. Additionally, she has held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business and as a Marketing Director for The Living Planet Aquarium.
