Poet - Educator - Producer - Advocate
Azmera Hammouri-Davis is a multi-talented writer, poet, producer, and artist-educator hailing from Keaáu, Hawaii. Her work bridges storytelling across arts, education, and entertainment, with a focus on African spirituality through Capoeira and Hip-Hop narrative as healing tools for Black girls amidst challenges. As a Fulbright Creative and Performing Arts Researcher funded by the U.S. Department of State, she champions racial justice and equity through her project 'CaPoetics: Exploring the Power of Movement and Word.' Currently a teaching fellow at Harvard University, Azmera is pursuing her passion for theological studies while crafting her debut poetry book 'CaPoetics: A Praise Dance.' She brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit, educational, and creative consulting realms, aiding in workplace culture enhancement, diversity initiatives, and student affairs optimization. Her global endeavors span collaborations with grassroots organizations, startups, musicians, and cultural activists to drive positive change and foster solidarity worldwide.
