Education and Early Career

Khanicheh holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, followed by a Master’s and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering from Northeastern University. Her doctoral dissertation was titled "Magnetic Resonance Compatible Smart Hand Device for fMRI Brain Imaging" and involved significant research in the field of biomedical imaging and device development.1

• Principal Engineer, Technology Development at PENTAX Medical (2013-2018): Led innovation programs in therapeutic endoscopy.

• Project Manager at Helbling Precision Engineering (2010-2013): Worked on medical device technology research and development.

• Senior R&D Engineer at BD Medical (2008-2010): Focused on new product development for vascular access devices.

• Visiting Research Scientist at Harvard Medical School (2007-2008): Managed MRI compatibility tests of mechatronic systems.1
