Ayah Rashid

Ayah Rashid is a well-traveled African American Muslim woman with a passion for fashion, literature, and creative writing. She has lived abroad for more than a decade, including 10 years in Dubai, and has visited numerous countries worldwide, including China, Egypt, and Jordan. Ayah is the founder of Sinjab, a young clothing company that provides fashionable, affordable modest wear for women, and promotes diversity in marketing campaigns.
Ayah is currently working as a Venture for America fellow at Citizen Yoga, a startup in Detroit. She has previously worked as a Recruitment Associate at Venture for America, Style Odyssey Columnist at Postscript Magazine, and Director Of Content Development at Citizen Yoga. Ayah has also worked as a Writer and Blogger at Muslim Girl and interned at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Brunswick Group.
She received a full scholarship to New York University in Abu Dhabi, where she graduated with honors with a degree in Literature and Creative Writing and a minor in Visual Arts. Ayah has an intermediate-level understanding of Arabic and can read, write, and understand most dialects. She has also served in several roles at NYUAD, including First Year Dialogue Co-Facilitator.
