Aviv Siegel is a seasoned technology professional who has held key positions in the field of crisis communication and secure messaging. Aviv served as the VP Technology of BlackBerry AtHoc, specializing in secure messaging and alerting solutions for critical enterprise applications.
Prior to his role at BlackBerry AtHoc, Aviv was the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of AtHoc, Inc., a company that focused on crisis communication technologies and was subsequently acquired by BlackBerry. At AtHoc, Aviv played a pivotal role in product security, cloud operations, and the architectural strategy of the AtHoc product line.
With over 25 years of experience, Aviv has excelled in architecting, developing, and implementing large-scale communication and security systems for military and commercial applications. His expertise spans working with prominent technology partners such as Microsoft, Cisco, and Motorola Solutions.
Aviv's contributions to the field extend beyond his professional roles. He has actively participated in industry committees like the NFPA Emergency Communication System (ECS) committee, OASIS Emergency Management Technical Committee (EM-TC), as well as contributed to the development of protocols like Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) and the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL). Aviv also holds patents in emergency notification and crisis communication areas.
Aviv Siegel is a Technion graduate with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, achieving the honor of cum laude. After dedicating 19 years to AtHoc, Aviv has recently decided to take a break to focus on personal endeavors such as spending time with family and friends, personal growth, indulging in cheese making, and providing consultancy to technology startups.
