Avi Klein is a dedicated psychotherapist and father of two with a lifelong commitment to helping others. Based in Union Square, New York, he has been practicing since 2009 following his graduation from Columbia University School of Social Work. His journey began by working with homeless families in San Francisco, where he witnessed the transformative power of empathy and connection in therapy.
Avi believes in the profound impact of therapeutic relationships in fostering growth and healing. He specializes in working with men, women, and couples, drawing on his training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). His approach focuses on nurturing individuals and their relationships to promote a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
In addition to his Masters from Columbia University, Avi has pursued further education, including programs at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College. Over the years, he has held various roles in different organizations such as St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, Hudson Guild, and The Catholic Big Sisters & Big Brothers, each contributing to his diverse expertise in mental health and social work.
Today, Avi Klein runs his own psychotherapy practice, Avi Klein, LCSW, where he continues to provide compassionate care and support to his clients. His dedication to empowering individuals and fostering meaningful relationships underscores his passion for helping others navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth.
