Ava Lubell

Ava Lubell is a knowledgeable and inquisitive legal professional with a strong background in journalism and the First Amendment. She currently serves as the First Amendment Fellow and Local Journalism Attorney at Cornell University's Cornell Law School. Ava has previously held the position of General Counsel at reputable media organizations like Quartz and The Slate Group.

Ava pursued her Juris Doctor (JD) degree at NYU School of Law, following her undergraduate studies in Political Science at Brown University. Her educational background has greatly contributed to her expertise in legal matters related to journalism, media, and the First Amendment.

In addition to her role as a First Amendment Fellow at Cornell University, Ava has also been actively involved in various organizations and roles throughout her career. She has served as a Board Member at the Student Press Law Center and has held multiple positions at The Slate Group, including General Manager, General Counsel, Assistant Counsel, Manager of Business Development, and Assistant. Before her current role, Ava was the Special Assistant to the Governor for Briefing at the Office of the Governor.
