Consumer & Market Insights Manager

Accountabilities: to identify new targets and territories, unveil consumers’ tensions behind them and brief the laboratories on the next products to create in order to further grow the business.

Working across the whole L'Oréal business (encompassing Mass, Professional, Active Cosmetics and Luxe brands)

Key Accountabilities: to compile, analyse and communicate data about L’Oreal and more broadly the beauty market, while always searching new pockets of growth.

- Create Beauty Market Reports for the International Market Intelligence team in Paris and the Senior Management of the UKI - compiling all the different sources of data available to L'Oréal into 1 synthesis document.

- Support the Top Management by creating market overview presentations.

- Carrying out analyses and market research on corporate topics, ie extending across the different categories that L'Oréal plays in. For example: the annual brand image study and quaterly trackers.

- Ensure that the business is inspired by new relevant trends coming from our agency partners and bring those trends to life in the business thanks to efficient communications, workshop, learning lunches.

- Deep dive and share knowledge on new target opportunities for the business, as well as identifying potentially new areas of interest fro the business (M&A).

- Lead the “client of choice” project aiming at improving agency’s satisfaction with working with L’Oreal in order to attract the best talents and creating strong partnerships.

- Ensure the development of the team's intern through feedback and coaching.

Corporate Market Insights Junior Manager

Deliver to the business the insights which will lead to growth by bringing the consumer to life and ensuring the products and services delivered are reaching the right targets.

Methodologies used: quantitative & qualitative research, Google Analytics, co-creation. 

Key accountabilities:

- Understand the hair colour market and consumers, in order to influence the business to go after the most meaningful opportunities.

- Ensure the individual brand teams get the right insights for them to ensure the success of their big product launches and advertising, while also making sure the brand positioning of the L'Oreal portfolio is optimised.

- Work hand in hand with market research agencies. Keeping efficient and trustworthy relationships with them to ensure the deadlines are met and the insight quality is at its highest standard. On a day to day basis, this involves briefing sessions, managing projects, analysing results, giving feedback and having brainstorm sessions.

- Train marketing/sales/management teams to the proper use of study results and tools made available to them (eg. panels softwares).

- Bring added value to the reports by concentrating on the insight which will deliver growth. 

- Work alongside the other members of the insight team in the UK and abroad, in order to speak with a single (consumer) voice to the business, via communicating and sharing best practices, processes, taking part in global task forces, etc.

I worked on diverse topics like concept, formula, ad, packaging tests, U&A, shoppers, conjoint analysis, etc.
In addition, I was responsible for the panel database review, in order to ensure the quality of the data was at its best.

Consumer & Market Insight Analyst

I worked within FMCG department on quantitative research around the themes of innovation and communication in France and abroad.
The studies include both ad hoc methodologies and TNS Sofres business solutions.


My tasks encompass the following steps:

- Proposal writing : gathering information to understand the client's real marketing objectives, preparing schedule and pricing, developing a Powerpoint document presenting the proposal. Discussing and validating the proposal with the managers before sending.

- Questionnaire development : mainly online questionnaires to be designed according to specific norms.

- Project management : setting up the project, coordinating the various actors internally and externally (ie. programming, fieldwork and data processing teams), ensuring the financial follow-up of the project.

- Creating straight-to-the-point and creative reports and writing insightful analysis which goes further than the simple facts by giving actionable standards to clients.

- Presenting results to client's market research and marketing teams.

As a senior market research executive, I was the day to day contact with the client from briefing to customer relationship management.
My responsibilities also included training new employees within the company and notably trainees.

TNS Sofres

Senior research executive

I coordinated each step of international quantitative research for major healthcare players. Studies conducted were ad hoc research targeting patients or physicians and the topics were diverse (among which diabetes, insomnia, PAH, flu, smoking, cancer).

My responsibilities included:

- Setting up the project by liaising with all the actors of the research. The peculiarity of healthcare research lying in the fact that authorizations must be granted before carrying out the project, so the process is heavier than research in other sectors.

- Ensuring fieldwork and data quality by working closely with the fieldwork teams and developing clear data processing instructions.

- Creating full reports: healthcare studies are often very complex and complete, clients are expecting a lot of data. The main goal was to present the information in a readable way and highlight most important facts.

- Analyzing the results and providing the clients with recommendations. 

- Presenting results to marketing research and global marketing departments. I had the opportunity to present results in English to enlarged marketing audience within the frame of the client's annual meeting around flu.
