Audrey Johnson, appointed by Governor Wes Moore, is the inaugural executive director of the Maryland Office of Social Equity, a new agency created under the Cannabis Reform Act of 2023 to promote economic opportunities and fairness in the adult-use cannabis market, with a focus on communities affected by the War on Drugs.
With over ten years of experience, Audrey previously spearheaded economic innovation and impact investing at Johns Hopkins University and Health System. Her leadership roles encompassed strategy, enterprise systems, supply chain, supplier diversity, and economic impact at Kaiser Permanente. She actively participates in civic leadership, lending her expertise to advisory boards and non-profit organizations.
Audrey's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from Howard University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from The George Washington University School of Business, and completion of the Executive Program at The Academy for Women and Leadership at The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School.
