Attila Lengyel

Attila Lengyel is a professional with a diverse background, born in Hungary, educated in Japan, and currently working in Silicon Valley with a strong passion for innovation, new business opportunities, and leadership.

He joined Western Digital Corporation (WDC) in 2013 and has been instrumental in leading the development and implementation of key business solutions at global factory sites, focusing on areas like simulation-driven shop-floor scheduling, data analytics-driven capacity planning, machine learning-based testing, and inventory management.

At WDC, Attila was elected to the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE) Leadership Team in 2017, where he played a crucial role in aligning Analytics activities across various organizations and global sites, including product development, program management, engineering, operations, and IT.

His expertise and leadership skills led to the proposal and design of a dedicated enterprise analytics organization within WDC, and he currently heads the Strategy, Innovation & Adoption Group of the Digital Analytics Office.

Prior to his role at WDC, Attila lived and worked in Japan, where he led an Operations Research team at Hitachi Ltd. in Yokohama. His team successfully implemented optimization solutions, earning recognition from prestigious organizations in Japan for impactful engineering research work.

Attila's educational background is equally impressive, with a Ph.D. in Systems Science from Kobe University in Japan, and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Operations Management from the University of Miskolc in Hungary.

He has also been associated with other notable organizations like Intel Corporation, and held positions such as Director of Systems Innovation & Applications at the Digital Analytics Office at Western Digital, Senior Manager of Information Systems & Factory Optimization at WDC, and Manager of the Strategic Planning Group at HGST, a Western Digital company.
