Atharv Oak is a sophomore student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) pursuing dual majors in Mathematics with Computer Science and Biology.
He has a keen interest in the interdisciplinary realms of Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, and Biology.
Currently, Atharv is actively involved with the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research (WIBR) and the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) at MIT.
His research projects focus on the mTOR pathway using biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology techniques, as well as NLP and Systems Dynamics Analysis to understand public perceptions on COVID-19 and opioid use for informing public policies.
Atharv Oak has a strong educational background, having studied Mathematics and Computer Science at MIT as well as participating in Dual Enrollment programs at Princeton University.
Prior to his current endeavors, he excelled academically at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and Vikhe Patil Memorial School.
Atharv has professional experience as a Molecular Biology Intern at Detect and as a former Undergraduate Researcher at the Whitehead Institute.
