Working on magical AI experiences at Shopify. Side project tinkerer. All-over-the-stack developer with 27+ years tech lead proficiency at anywhere from low-level backend to pixel pushing on the frontend.

Currently working on all things https://shopify.com/magic, all the over the stack, from gluing AI models in Python to obsessing about visual effects on an HTML canvas with TypeScript:
- Prototyping of Sidekick features
- LLM streaming/plumbling connoisseur
- Shipped Media Generation (aka background removal/replacement) in Admin, also shipping a rewrite of the file editor along the way. Played a pivotal role in the rapid success of both projects by early prototypes and with a contagious can-do attitude.

Generally thriving on being unleashed into uncharted territory to rapidly prototype pragmatic solutions, bringing hope and energy to my surroundings.

Created a server that parses IMAP data files and serves them through an XML API to power a web-based e-mail client.

Wrote Java applet games and various mission-critical servers and tools for the company's portal.

Wrote various mission-critical server-side components for Internet connectivity + portal access of clients.

Helped customers with connectivity and configuration problems while using programming skills beyond the call of duty: Created various in-house tools including an IRC bot for moderation of IRC channels and a dashboard to allow system administrators to monitor the connection status and health of modems and PRIs.
