Ashley Acken

Ashley Acken is a dedicated Mama Bear through adoption, a loving wife, and a hospital chaplain with a rich academic background and diverse professional experience.

She holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Duke Divinity School, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Sociology, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Catawba College, along with a degree in MHA from Queens University of Charlotte.

Ashley currently serves as the Senior Clinical Administrative Chaplain at Duke University Medical Center, bringing her expertise and compassion to support patients and their families during challenging times.

Her previous roles include Chaplain Resident at VA Hospital Durham and Duke University Health System, Campus Co-Minister at Duke Lutherans, and Pastoral Intern at Andrews United Methodist Church.

Furthermore, she has contributed to various organizations such as America Reads America Counts, The Nonprofit Village, and Catawba College as a Tutor, Intern, and Supplemental Instructional Leader, respectively.
