Arran Strong is an Olympic surfing hopeful and ambassador for the Lovexair Foundation.2 He was born in 1998 with a rare disease, which led his mother, Shane Fitch, to become involved in patient advocacy and eventually establish the Lovexair Foundation in 2011.1 As an ambassador, Arran emphasizes the importance of hearing directly from patients about their experiences with rare diseases to ensure better representation of the rare disease community.2
