Arnold Mikolo
Co-Chair/ Facilitator Team leader member at Welcoming Manchester
Arnold Mukwanga Mikolo is the Environmental Justice Community Advocate for New Hampshire at Conservation Law Foundation (CLF).12 He was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and moved several times due to political instability before settling in New Hampshire.1
Mikolo is actively involved in environmental justice work, focusing primarily on Manchester and expanding to Nashua.2 He advocates for equal participation and fair treatment in distributing environmental benefits and alleviating environmental burdens for marginalized communities.2
In addition to his work at CLF, Mikolo founded Lugha Translation Services in Manchester, NH in 2019.3 He is also involved in various community organizations:
- Branch 1st Vice President of the Manchester NAACP chapter1
- Volunteer housing tester with New Hampshire Legal Assistance1
Mikolo has received several awards for his civic engagement:
- "Civic Leader of the Year" in 2016 from Stay Work Play1
- "40 under Forty" in 2017 from the Union Leader1
- "2018 It List" from New Hampshire Magazine1
- 2021 Good Samaritan Award from Pastoral Counseling Services1
His educational background includes undergraduate studies in business in Uganda.1
