• Rotational programme across compliance and investment research.

•Within compliance, I viewed the instructions utilised by an external asset manager when assessing whether a client is suitable to be taken on board as an 'assessed professional client' based on their identification and KYC documentation. 

• Understood how to assess a clients 'risk profile' based on prior investment experience and understanding of the risk faced when investing in various products from fixed income and mutual funds to structured notes.

• Reviewed investment ideas obtained from external wealth managers and private banks affiliated with Habib Capital Limited. Understood the various multiples utilised in assessing the risk of an asset including the Sharpe ratio, LTV ratio and CET ratio.

• Shadowed the CEO of Eternity (global battery manufacturer and supplier) and understood the functions behind the major departments including operations, finance, production, HR and the in house council for the UAE’s largest battery company.

• Understood the thought process  behind their strategy to open a $20m assembly plant in India, the metal and forex hedging strategies and the internal audit functions of the business.

• Appreciated the use of ‘Six Sigma and 5 s’ as well as Kaizen in their applications in leam manufacturing for the business to improve production time, quality, health, safety and environmental impact.

Al Dobowi Group

• 4-Week internship introducing various aspects of finance, investment banking, including various areas on the sell-side and buy-side.

• Undertook simulations including; sales and trading, hedge fund trading, asset management, IPO issuance and stock pitches, M&A, risk management and brokerage. 

• Provided with an in depth perspective for how proprietary firms run including multi-asset strategies for trading using fundamental global markets analysis, technical analysis as well as execution strategies.

• Provided with insights into the psychology of trading, derivatives, introductions to a bonds, equities and commodities and how to trade them on the CQG platform.

• Wrote a trading algorithm for the S&P 500 using the relative strength index (RSI) for when to buy and sell the index under specific circumstance.

• Undertook a week-long programme in Singapore learning about various areas of wealth management, alternative investments and trading. 

• Learnt strategies for asset allocation as well as how technology is disrupting the future. This included investing in technology for businesses as well as the uses of deep technology, artificial intelligence and challenges for entrepreneurs face for the future.

• Awarded as the winner of the trading simulation as well as most inquisitive participant. 

• Visited numerous offices including; Block 71, Bloomberg, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Infocom Media Development Authority and PIXEL.

• Founded from being the winners at the Oxford Startup weekend, five experienced colleagues and I are empowering women to learn how to fix their own car given high demand from 350 survey responses. 

• Designed templates of the website and mobile app, revenue stream model from workshops and advertisements based off the surveys as well as the business strategy using a hyper localisation model.

• Obtained partnerships with insurance companies and automotive brands who plan to sell on the platform as well as affiliations with KPMG, tyre companies and car companies.

• My team and I have been tasked to assist a client who wishes to devise an academic periodical/ platform where controversial social science orientated topics can be debated. Writers are hired and post articles on a weekly basis where a forum gives way for discussion. Additionally we interview figureheads of the social sciences, most recent being one with former minister of Canada, Kim Campbell and posted the transcript on the site.

• Utilised value chain analysis alongside four other advisors leading to the rolling out of the first ‘Bat-mobile’ (battery service vehicle), delivering automobile parts across West Africa (turnover of $50,000).

• Used Natural Language Processing to quantify the mental health of patients using qualitative data from their therapy and translating it into quantitative figures. This data is also thereby used to determine the optimal therapy sessions for each client.
