Aravind Mallik, a seasoned academician and industry professional with over 114 years of combined experience in teaching and the industry, has made a name for himself as a true pioneer in introducing India's first-ever virtual reality in academics. He made headlines by winning the Limca Book of Records 2019 for his outstanding contribution to the field of education. Before joining academics, he served as the Chief Operating Officer and has garnered extensive expertise in sales, product, and branding.
With his unwavering commitment to innovation, Aravind Mallik has brought numerous positive changes in teaching methods by implementing world-class teaching experiences such as flipped classrooms, design thinking for mobile learning teachers, and virtual reality, winning the highest number of awards for the timely implementation of edtech innovation since 2011. He is a trained academician, TEDx speaker, educator, and author with varied interests in art, literature, photography, music, and avid reading.
Aravind Mallik's research on the induction of virtual reality in academics for consumer behavior topics has been officially recognized and entered into the Limca Book of Records 2019, a world record book after the Guinness Book of World Records. He was also the first Indian to bring virtual reality into academia, winning the Best Marketing Professor award in 2018, endorsed by CMO Asia and IBR.
Incorporating the best practices in the teaching industry, Aravind Mallik is now focusing on how virtual reality can impact student learning and help overcome social phobias. He has also instilled digital media tools such as Facebook and Instagram into MBA curriculums and is exploring the possibility of incorporating AI and neuromarketing into teaching.
Aravind Mallik is a Ph.D. in management, a research scholar at Visvesvaraya Technological University, and has a degree in honorary doctorate in business administration from IVUP, recognized by the United Nations for his exceptional creativity and innovation in teaching. He completed his MBA in marketing from the School of Management, Manipal, and earned a Bachelor of Engineering in civil from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumkur.
