Arata Oono

Arata Oono is a prominent designer and entrepreneur known for his innovative contributions to the motorcycle industry. He is the founder of Arata Oono Products Inc., established in September 2015 in Los Angeles, California, and also serves as the Founder & CEO of Borderless Incorporated, which he started in 2012 in Tokyo, Japan.

Oono gained significant recognition for leading the CrossHelmet project, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2017, raising over $500,000. The CrossHelmet is notable for being the first smart motorcycle helmet equipped with a binocular heads-up display, environmental sound control, and a wireless group talk system. This product aims to enhance rider safety and communication while on the road.

Before founding his companies, Oono worked as a product designer at GK Design Group, Japan's largest design firm, where he contributed to various motorcycle designs and received multiple awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award in 2014 for the Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Product Design from the Tokyo University of the Arts, where he studied from 2002 to 2006.1
