Anya Schiess

Anya Schiess is a healthcare entrepreneur and investor with a highly accomplished background in the industry. A native Minnesotan, Schiess attended Princeton University, where she earned an AB degree. She continued her studies at The Wharton School, where she obtained her MBA. After graduating, Schiess started her career at McKinsey & Company as a consultant, where she gained experience in various aspects of business strategy. She later joined Thomas, McNerney & Partners as a venture capitalist, where she developed a passion for investing in healthcare technology. Schiess has also held leadership positions at Medtronic, Inc., an industry-leading medical device manufacturer, and the Clinton Foundation's HIV/AIDS Initiative.

In 2015, Schiess founded Healthy Ventures, a healthcare software fund based in San Francisco. She co-founded the firm with Bob Kocher, a former partner at Venrock and healthcare policy adviser to President Obama. Schiess is an active investor and board member, having served on the boards of several companies in the healthcare technology sector such as ClinCapture, Concert Health, and WOOTCLOUD over the years. She is also a former member of Broadway Angels, a group of female investors who focus on early-stage companies.
