Anya Raza

Anya Raza, a Pakistani-Dutch filmmaker, writer, and activist, is making waves in the world of storytelling through her work in film, writing, and stand-up comedy. Her experience in the non-profit sector translates into telling global stories that break stereotypes, encourage critical thinking, and catalyze change. Anya's debut film "How She Moves" won an Award for Excellence in Documentary Short Filmmaking at the 43rd Asian American International Film Festival and is currently touring film festivals globally.

Anya's work in the international development sector, including projects related to economic empowerment, emergency response, and human development, has primarily focused on women and marginalized groups. Her background includes a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and an MA in Film & Media Production from American University. Anya's past roles have included positions with the United Nations, Acumen Fund, Kiva.org, Concern Worldwide, and the Omar Asghar Khan Development Foundation, among others.
