Anthony Rowe is an accomplished artist and designer with over two decades of experience in digital media art.
He is the founder of Squidsoup, a renowned collaborative arts practice, where he serves as the director and creative lead.
Squidsoup's innovative installations have been displayed worldwide, including recent exhibitions in the UK, Norway, Netherlands, France, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
The organization has permanent exhibits in the UK, US, Norway, and New Zealand, and has been recognized with prestigious awards such as honorary mentions at Ars Electronics and Prix FILE LUX, along with a Bafta nomination.
Anthony Rowe earned his PhD in 'Immersion in Mixed Reality Spaces' from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design in 2015, where he also held the position of Associate Professor in Interaction Design.
His role involved overseeing the strategy and coordination of the taught masters curriculum in Interaction Design.
Before transitioning to digital media, Anthony's diverse background includes experience as an engineer, illustrator, travel photographer, teacher of English as a foreign language, flamenco guitarist, and long-distance single-handed sailor, where he set a world record for crossing the Atlantic alone.
His academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, a Master of Arts in Design for Interactive Media from Middlesex University, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and Subsidiary Mathematics from the University of Reading.
