Anne-Marie Godfrey is a highly experienced investment funds lawyer with notable management skills. She has a proven track record in building investment funds practice from scratch, having achieved this feat at both Bingham McCutchen and Akin Gump. Over the past ten years, she has grown the investment management practice of Akin Gump, where she is currently the head. Anne-Marie is a prominent figure in the investment funds industry, and she speaks and publishes widely on regulatory issues. She also holds membership on several prestigious regulatory committees that shape regulatory policy in Hong Kong.

Anne-Marie is an alumna of the National University of Ireland, Galway, where she studied law and B Corp law (Hons). She also studied Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Finance Law and Diplome de Francais Juridique at the Law Society of Ireland and the Paris Chamber of Commerce, respectively. In 2015, she was named one of the 50 leading women in hedge funds globally by the Hedge Funds Journal, and she also received the Euromoney Women in Law "Best in Banking and Finance" award that same year.
