Anne Steele
Community Manager @ The Turing Way, The Alan Turing Institute
Anne Lee Steele is a UK-based researcher with a background in Anthropology and Sociology, focusing on digital ecosystems, open source infrastructure, and supply chains.
Currently serving as the community manager for The Turing Way at the Alan Turing Institute, she oversees an open-source resource for reproducible data science.
As an Early Career Fellow at the Internet Society, Anne investigates low earth orbit (LEO) satellite supply chains and is involved with The Re Project incubated at Wikimedia Deutschland's Unlock Accelerator.
Anne recently completed her MA at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, where she studied open geospatial data and humanitarian mapping practices.
Previously, she held roles as a Reproducible Research Fellow at the Open Knowledge Foundation and collaborated with the Centre on Conflict, Development, and Peacebuilding, particularly with the Transparency Lab.
Her research approach combines ethnography and community-building to understand the complexities of our digital world.
