Ann Bishop

Ann Baird Bishop is a highly experienced attorney with a focus on workers' compensation law. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History at Vanderbilt University in 1973, then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law in 1976. Her legal prowess was evident in law school when she became a member of the Law Review, Secretary of the Student Bar Association, a member of Phi Delta Phi, Phi Delta Phi 1976 graduate of the year, on the Dean's List and receiver of the American Jurisprudence/Highest Grade Awards in Labor Standards and Administrative Law.

Ann has represented employers and insurers in workers' compensation cases since 1981, and served as a partner in a number of different law firms over the years. Currently, she works as Of Counsel at Hall Booth Smith P.C. She has also been a trailblazer in her field, being the first female partner of Drew Eckl & Farnham, and founding partner of A. B. Bishop & Associates.

Ann has also been extensively involved in professional organizations throughout her career. She was on the Executive Committee of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Georgia Bar and served as Chair for 2007-08. She has been on the Rules and Mediation Committee of the Chairman's Advisory Council of the State Board for over 20 years and also served as the editor of the newsletter published by the Workers' Compensation Section for three years. Ann has been recognized for her work within the industry, including induction as a Fellow into the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers in 2012 and being named as a recipient of the 2017 Distinguished Service Award by the Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Justice Benham Award for Community Service in 2018.

Beyond her legal career, Ann is heavily involved in charitable work. She has served as President and board member of Kids' Chance of Georgia, and is now on the Board of Directors of Kids' Chance's of America. She also serves on the Board of Visitors for Mercer Law School.
