Animesh Acharjee

Animesh Acharjee is an Assistant Professor of Integrative Analytics and AI at the University of Birmingham, specializing in Health Data Science. He also serves as the Deputy Programme Director for the MSc in Health Data Science in Dubai. His academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the North Eastern Regional Institute of Technology (NERIST) in India, a Master's in Bioinformatics from the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology in Bangalore, India, and a PhD from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, focusing on applied machine learning and data analysis.12

Prior to his current role, Dr. Acharjee held positions at various prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge, where he researched metabolic diseases using high-throughput metabolomics and lipidomics technologies. His research interests encompass integrative data analytics, predictive biomarker discovery, and the development of bioinformatics tools for clinical applications. He has published extensively, with over 70 papers to his name, and collaborates with institutions such as Harvard University.134

Dr. Acharjee's work involves integrating multi-omics data to uncover therapeutic and disease mechanisms, utilizing machine learning methods across various diseases. His contributions to the field have been recognized through several fellowships and awards, including those from the British Council and the Dutch Government.23
