Anil Rai, a distinguished individual, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics Honors from St. Stephen's College. He furthered his academic journey by acquiring a postgraduate degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics in 1978.

Throughout his illustrious career, Anil Rai has earned various accolades and recognition for his outstanding contributions. In 1996, he was selected as one of the 100 Global Leaders of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. His dedication and service to the nation and society were honored with the Dadabhai Naoroji International Millennium Award in 2002. He is deeply involved in areas such as education, culture, and social work, showcasing his diverse interests and commitment to societal betterment.

Since 2000, Anil Rai has been actively engaged in the field of education through a not-for-profit charitable foundation established by his family. The foundation is responsible for managing the acclaimed Banyan Tree Schools located in North India, as well as the esteemed IILM Institutes offering Graduate and Post Graduate Management Education.

Anil Rai's professional affiliations highlight his leadership skills and industry influence. He has been a valued member of the Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO) since 1999, assuming various significant roles within the organization. Currently, he serves as the Learning Officer of the YPO Gold South Asia Regional Chapter, contributing his expertise and knowledge to support the development and growth of young leaders.
