Angela Winstead, PhD, is a leading STEM educator and researcher who has made it her mission to inspire and empower young, African-American scholars to reach their full potential. With extensive training in Chemistry, Dr. Winstead has devoted her career to promoting student growth and increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in science. As a professor at Morgan State University, Dr. Winstead emphasizes the critical thinking components of chemistry in her teaching and incorporates research and advising into the overall student development experience. She has supervised over 120 undergraduate research presentations, secured funding from various sources totaling over $2.4 million, and published over a dozen articles with undergraduate coauthors.
