Angela Romans
Leadership and racial equity consultant, coach, facilitator
Angela Romans is the Founding Executive Director of Innovation For Equity (IFE), a position she has held since June 2021. Based in Washington, D.C., she has over 25 years of experience in nonprofit and public sector leadership, focusing on racial equity and education access for underserved youth, particularly Black and Brown students. Romans is dedicated to developing leaders within the education ecosystem and has a background in coaching organizations and senior leaders on strategy, governance, and diversity initiatives.1
Her career trajectory shifted from biomedical engineering—where she studied at Harvard University—to education, driven by her passion for working with students. She has served in various roles, including classroom teacher, academic advisor, college admissions officer, and consultant for education organizations.1
Romans is also a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and provides leadership development focused on racial equity within the nonprofit sector. She collaborates with various organizations to enhance their DEI strategies.1
