Angela Chang

Angela Chang is a multi-talented professional with a focus on developing storytelling technology to promote collaboration and creativity.

Her current projects include TinkerStories, which are apps designed for parents to engage in literacy activities with their children through storytelling, teaching young people to utilize technology for creative ventures, and exploring wearable textiles.

Angela's expertise lies in the research areas of haptics, storytelling, and education, with her product domains spanning apps, haptic prototypes, and wearables.

TinkerStories, one of her projects, allows readers to interact with narratives through gestures and change the words in the story, aiding parents in teaching reading in an engaging and interactive manner.

She has a deep interest in fostering a passion for learning, being a mentor to hundreds of undergraduates during her tenure as a live-in tutor at MIT, and advocating for passion-driven education to empower the next generation.

With a background in multiple disciplines like hacking, inventing, art, engineering, programming, gaming, and building, Angela is driven by the goal of creating tools that empower individuals to become future leaders and change-makers.

Her educational journey includes obtaining a PhD in Media Arts and Sciences, a SM degree in Media Arts and Sciences, and a SB in Mechanical Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with completing high school in Miami Springs.

Angela has held various roles at distinguished organizations such as Synesthesia Muse Team, TinkerStories (where she served as CEO and Founder), MIT Media Lab, Clio Designs, Motorola, Tagsense, and other prominent institutions, showcasing her extensive and diverse professional experience.

Her vision revolves around building aesthetically pleasing and practical innovations while sharing her endeavors with her community and loved ones.
